Aquarius New Moon in Gate 49

Over the next couple of weeks there is going to be a pile up of planets in Aquarius.  Both of the luminaries, the Sun and Moon, are in Aquarius along with Mercury, Mars, and Pluto. On February 16th, Venus will join the Sun, Mercury, Mars and Pluto in Aquarius.  

Aquarius is the 11th sign of the zodiac and a Fixed Air sign that is ruled by Saturn and symbolized by the water bearer (which is why this sign often gets confused for a water sign instead of an air sign), which represents the flow of intellectual and innovative energies rather than emotions.  

In the context of Aquarius, the pouring of water symbolizes the distribution of wisdom, innovation, and the collective consciousness. Aquarians are often seen as progressive thinkers who aim to bring about positive change for the greater good of humanity. The symbol emphasizes the idea of freely sharing ideas and contributing to the well-being of society.

As a fixed sign, Aquarius is known for being determined and persistent. Once they set their minds on a goal or idea, they are likely to pursue it with unwavering resolve. Fixed signs are what help to bring into manifestation what the cardinal signs that come before it initiated.  

Being an Air sign, Aquarius is associated with intellect and analytical thinking. Aquarians are usually curious, open-minded, and have a natural aptitude for abstract reasoning. They enjoy engaging in intellectual discussions and exploring new concepts.

Aquarius is often at the forefront of social and technological advancements, eager to explore and implement new ideas for the betterment of society. This can manifest as progressive movements that pave the way for a more enlightened society.

As the ruler of the 11th House of friendships, social networks, groups, aspirations, and collective ideals, while they may appear detached at times, Aquarians are loyal friends who appreciate authenticity and honesty in their relationships. They value the freedom to be themselves and extend the same courtesy to others. 

Tomorrow, February 9th is the new moon in Aquarius, which is activated by gate 49.  Gate 49 is a beautiful representation of this Aquarius archetype.

The 49th Hexagram is known as Revolution or Abolishing the Old and is made up of the elements of Lake over Fire.  The lake can extinguish fire and the fire can dry up the water in the lake.  These elements can overcome each other, which is why they symbolize revolution and abolishing the old.  

In the sequential order of the 64 Hexagrams, after Abolishing the Old comes Establishing the New, the 50th Hexagram.  After revolution, we have to establish a new way of being, which will be rooted in harmony and shared values of equality and justice for all. 

The Gate of Principles in Human Design is located in the Emotional Solar Plexus reaching for gate 19 in the Root center forming the Channel of Synthesis, which is a part of the Ego (Tribal) Circuit.  

This gate is about establishing principles in relationships. Principles need to be obeyed otherwise the person will be rejected and cut off by the other. This is why this gate is also known as the gate of divorce. 

It can manifest as being either sensitive or insensitive towards other people, animals, and their needs, which is based on how much they resonate with your own principles. The people that you allow into your circle are ones that are willing to stand by and support your principles. 

The focus of gate 49 is social change and reforming the way that resources are shared and distributed- in particular food. 

The 49th Shadow of Reaction is rooted in the fear of rejection, which causes you to cut others off before they have the chance to reject you.  This fear is most present in relationships because reaction cannot occur without the presence of something else.  It is a knee-jerk reaction to an outer stimulus.  

Reaction can also cause us versus them thinking, where we start to place people in an ingroup and outgroup.  This type of thinking is what creates separation and the dehumanization of those who are not in your tribe.  This is what has led to so much violence against other humans, animals, and the planet.  

As we learn to not react to the fear of rejection it will begin to lose its grip on us.  This is what will allow for the awareness of our interconnection to return.

The 49th Gift of Revolution is about bringing stagnant energy into awareness. This occurs as everything that is no longer working is brought to the surface. 

Revolution brings a dream to implement some form of radical social or political change. The purpose is to bring this explosive new energy and awareness into the world at a cultural and societal level.

This urge to change the world comes from a deep understanding of the world. You understand how long true change and transformation takes. This urge is anchored in a deep goodwill towards all creatures.

The 49th Siddhi of Rebirth is what will begin to rebuild our world after the 49th Gift of Revolution has begun to disassemble it.  Once we have escaped the vibration of fear, our outer world will be completely different.  

This Siddhi teaches us that we cannot fix the world in its current form, no matter how profound or far-reaching the revolution might be.  This is because the foundation is built on fear and scarcity.  This is why the old must die in order for something new to be reborn. 

The good news is that this process of revolution and rebirth is already occurring.  

This Gene Key is a part of the Ring of the Whirlwind along with gate 55, which is responsible for the mutation that is currently occurring in the Emotional Solar Plexus and the shift in global cycles, which will occur in 2027.
